Brooks Houck, suspect in Crystal Rogers disappearance, in court on theft charges

The only suspect named in the disappearance of a Bardstown mother of five, pleaded not guilty to theft charges on Thursday.
Prosecutors say Brooks Houck stole hundreds of dollars worth of shingles from Lowes in April.
Houck was named a suspect in the disappearance of his then-girlfriend, Crystal Rogers, who went missing in 2015. He was never charged or arrested.
Although the theft charge is unrelated, Rogers' mother sat in the court room for his arraignment.
"I honestly wish it was for my daughter. I wait for that day every minute, every second of my life. But to see him here for anything, I will take that. I'll wait for the day that I see him in court for my daughter," said Sherry Ballard.
Houck's trial on the theft charges in set for January.
