Louisville doctors urge people to mask up again as COVID-19 levels rise
With all Kentucky counties in either the and hospitalizations ticking up, Louisville doctors are urging people to mask up again.
UofL Health says they have 61 patients with COVID-19 now across all their hospitals, adding five in the last week.
Norton Healthcare saw a rise of 15 COVID-19 patients in the last week, making their total 69.
Dr. Mark Burns with UofL said he is not surprised we are seeing an uptick in cases because the latest omicron variant is so contagious.
"The numbers that are out, the raw numbers that are across the state are probably lower than what it actually is because of home tests that do not get reported," Burns said.
Officials encourage those testing positive at home to either call their county health department or go to their website to report their diagnosis.
