WATCH: Take a look inside Derby City Gaming's downtown Louisville location
Derby City Gaming in downtown Louisville held a soft opening for the newest location on Monday.
Churchill Downs said it spent $90 million on the downtown Derby City Gaming.
The new location features nearly 500 historical racing machines, with a variety of themes.
First Turn Sports Bar and Stage has a sportsbook to watch and bet on games, along with a live stage for entertainment.
There's also a bourbon and wine bar on the downstairs level and Churchill Downs souvenirs in the gift shop.
Louisville May Craig Greenberg says it's a great development for an area undergoing change.
"I think having another entertainment option and another food and beverage outlet at the quality of Derby City Gaming is a great foundation to continue to build upon. It will give more hotels confidence to build here," Greenberg said. "We're currently right now getting ready to enter into some public-private partnerships on some city-owned property. People will see the success Derby City Gaming and Churchill Downs in downtown Louisville and that will give them confidence to make further investments."
Churchill Downs says the new location generated 450 construction jobs and 150 permanent jobs.
The downtown location officially opens to the public on Wednesday.
