One of our area's favorite dogs, Ethan, now has yet another honor on his name, and this one might be the biggest one yet!After months of voting, Louisville's survivor pup was declared the 2022 American Humane Hero Dog of the Year.Ethan first won the "Shelter Hero Dog" category in the first two rounds of voting.That put him up against the winners of the contest's six other categories for the top award.Those who loved Ethan's story though got out the vote and helped push him over the top. American Humane said it got more than one million votes in the 12th annual contest."Please join us in congratulating this hero whose incredible will to live has inspired thousands of people around the world," said a post on Facebook. Guide/hearing, search and rescue, military, therapy, law enforcement and detection and service were the other categories whose winners Ethan had to beat out to win the honor.Congratulations Ethan!!!
