4 people rescued after fallen tree trapped them inside Taylor Berry home
Four people were rescued after a tree fell on a home, trapping them inside.
Intense storms rolled through the region Friday night.
The storms brought down a tree around 10:17 p.m. and it fell on a home in the 1500 block of Wurtele Ave., which is in the Taylor Berry neighborhood.
By 11:30 p.m., firefighters said four people, two adults and two children, were rescued from the home with help from special teams.
Louisville Fire said the victims sustained what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Following the rescue, crews remained on scene to secure the structure, control utilities, and ensure the residence was made as safe as possible under the circumstances.
"Our firefighters responded swiftly and professionally to a dangerous and complex situation," said LFD. "Thanks to their training and teamwork, lives were saved."
