Get ready for a full moon on Monday.
Something a little different about May's full moon is that it's a Micromoon, meaning it may look a bit smaller and dimmer than usual.
Micromoons occur when a full moon coincides with when it's farthest from Earth in its orbit. As a result, the micromoon will appear about 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than usual.
Even so, May's full moon reaches peak illumination during the day, at 12:56 p.m. EDT, but will appear full to stargazers Monday and Tuesday night.
Cloudy, rainy skies could block viewing for many, but hopefully some breaks in the clouds will allow for viewing.
