Hurricane Ida wreaked havoc on southeastern Louisiana and flyover footage of Grand Isle shows just how damaging the storm was to the area. Footage obtained by sister station WDSU shows significant damage to buildings and flooding. As Ida approached the Louisiana coast as a Category 4 hurricane, surveillance footage showed just how powerful the winds were and the inundation that took place.Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards mentioned in a news conference Monday afternoon that they've been able to assess the damage done in Grand Isle mainly by air. Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle issued a voluntary evacuation Thursday when Ida was a tropical storm.
