Man charged in girlfriend's death more than 2 years after she was shot in Henryville
Police have arrested a man more than two years after his girlfriend was killed in southern Indiana, and he has been charged with her murder.
Detectives with the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit arrested 33-year-old Derek Pixley, of Borden, Indiana in connection to the death of Brittney Boman.
Boman was shot in October 2022.
ISP said she was shot around Brownstown Road in Henryville. Documents say she was found by Pixley, who was her boyfriend at the time.
The documents say he knocked at a strangers back door that night and said, "Somebody shot my girlfriend, grab your gun."
Boman was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment. She was hospitalized until she died from her injuries the following December.
Detectives told 비바카지노 Viva years ago that when Boman talked with investigators at her hospital bedside, she refused to cooperate.
New documents show that she told police that she was hiding from Pixley in the woods when she was shot because "when he is mad, he is unpredictable," but she couldn't see who shot her. But Pixley was with her when she woke up.
A prosecutor told 비바카지노 Viva that Boman filed a protective order out against Pixley in August 2021. It's unclear whether it was active at the time of the shooting.
Two years later, in December 2024, ISP took over the investigation.
Through multiple interviews, an ISP detective determined he had enough information to review the case with the Clark County Prosecutor.
That review happened last month, and on May 7 the completed case resulted in a probable cause affidavit and arrest warrant for Pixley.

ISP detectives found Pixley Monday night in Scott County. He was arrested without incident.
