JCPS Superintendent Marty Pollio announces retirement
Jefferson County Public Schools' superintendent is retiring.
According to JCPS, Marty Pollio sent a letter to the district on Friday making the announcement.
"In every leader맥스카지노s journey, there comes a time to turn the page and move on to the next chapter in your life. And that time is quickly approaching for me," it said, in part.
Pollio has been at the helm of the district since his appointment in April 2018. He was acting superintendent for nearly a year before that.
He said his retirement will be effective July 1, 2025. His letter said he gave a three-year commitment in 2022 and had planned for this year to be his final.
Pollio has served as superintendent through some major crises, as he details in his letter, like the global pandemic and staffing shortages.
"Through all the major challenges, I am so proud of the accomplishments we have made together for the students of this community," he said.

"It's been a significant period of change in public education. He survived longer than so many of his peers.
