A dramatic helicopter rescue of a K-9 unfolded in La Mesa, California, on Friday afternoon, capturing the attention of drivers and onlookers. Video footage of the incident shows military personnel rushing to save a Border Patrol K-9 named Boo, who had been bitten by a rattlesnake while working in the Otay Mountain Wilderness, according to KGTV. U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed that Boo needed anti-venom within hours to avoid a fatal outcome. Nessa Lene, who was in traffic when the helicopter carrying Boo landed and recorded the dog's rescue, told KGTV that she was worried about the dog, so she called the pet emergency center to ask if the K-9 was OK."Called here and I'm sure you're not allowed to tell me things, but I'm wondering if you can just let me know if he's okay? And luckily, they let me know that he's doing just fine," Lene said.See more in the video player above.
