Kentucky Derby Museum celebrating Mage's 2023 win with updated exhibit
The Kentucky Derby Museum is celebrating this year's winner of the Run for the Roses.
The halter and horseshoes worn by Mage during his Derby win are now on display at the museum, along with a hat signed by the connections.
And the popular winner's circle exhibit has been updated to create a life-like replica of the Derby winner and jockey Javier Castellano.
"We have a local artist that almost every single year takes so many images, Derby-winning images, pictures," said Kentucky Derby Museum director of communications Katrina Helmer. "We'll sometimes go back to the barns. We'll get photos from the team to look at every single different spot on a horse."
The museum says it has not experienced any changes in attendance despite Churchill Downs moving the Spring Meet to Ellis Park.
There are horses still stabled at the track, so the museum continues to offer its tour of the backside.
