Kentucky's top leaders weigh in on President Trump's 'Big, Beautiful Bill'
Kentucky's top state leaders were in Louisville Monday, offering their thoughts on President Donald Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill."
Sen. Mitch McConnell and Congressman Morgan McGarvey both spoke at the Memorial Day service at Cave Hill Cemetery.
비바카지노 Viva spoke with the lawmakers after the service about Trump's budget bill.
The bill includes provisions to make the 2017 tax cuts permanent and address other tax-related issues.
Additionally, it includes provisions related to border security, funding for border walls, and potentially boosting immigration enforcement.
The bill passed in the U.S. House last week and now sits in the Senate.
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul called the spending cuts wimpy and criticized how it raises the debt ceiling.
McConnell wouldn't say if he would be voting "yes" or "no" on the bill, but McGarvey made his displeasure clear.
"Most of the president's domestic agenda is in this one bill. And I think in the end we will all get together and it will be a Republican vs. Democrat thing just like it was two years ago," McConnell said.
McGarvey expressed his concerns for how the bill will impact Kentuckians.
"It is going to hurt every single Kentuckian. If you go to a hospital, if you have a kid in a public school, if you have someone in your family who uses Medicaid and Medicare for their health insurance, you know, a veteran who uses a nation's premier anti-hunger program to make sure they have a meal at night, this bill is going to help those people," he said.
The Senate can make changes to the bill, and if they do, it will return to the House for another vote.
