US Olympic wrestler Kyle Snyder arrested in prostitution sting
Olympic wrestler Kyle Snyder was arrested during an undercover prostitution sting, according to Ohio police.
On Friday, Columbus police conducted an undercover operation, publishing internet escort advertisements to solicit others to engage in sexual activity for hire.
Police said officers began receiving texts and calls in response to the published ads.
Police said Snyder, a two-time Olympic medalist, met an undercover officer at a hotel and paid them cash to perform sexual acts.
Snyder was arrested inside the hotel room and charged with engaging in prostitution. He was released from the scene and is set to appear in court on Monday, according to police. He was one of 16 men charged as part of the operation.
Snyder earned gold at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and silver in Tokyo in 2021. He's a three-time world champion who won three national titles at Ohio State.
