LG&E and KU planning system enhancements, and it could raise your bill
LG&E and KU have a plan to make improvements, but it could raise your bill.
On Thursday, the company released information about investing in system enhancements.
The plan is to build stronger wires and poles, increase vegetation management and install advanced technologies to identify and prevent outages.
Their reason: Extreme weather patterns are taking a toll.
맥스카지노Our system enhancement plans will help us defend against Mother Nature and improve service for our customers," LG&E and KU President John R. Crockett.
But there's a cost to that, and it could come from your wallet.
LG&E and KU said they plan to file requests with the Kentucky Public Service Commission on May 30 for adjustments to their total revenues.
If approved, here are the expected effects to your bill:
- KU residential customers using an average of 1,085 kWh per month would see an increase of $18.14 in their total monthly electric bill.
- LG&E residential electric customers using an average of 866 kWh per month would see an increase in their total monthly bill of $11.04.
- LG&E residential natural gas customers using an average of 52 Ccf per month would see an increase of $11.12 in their total monthly bill.
맥스카지노We understand that increasing customer bills is impactful and not a decision we take lightly. Our employees, who are also our customers, work hard to operate and maintain our systems to be among the best in the nation, and we have held true to our commitment to not increase rates for the last five years. Even now, our request is significantly less than the rate of inflation,맥스카지노 Crockett said. 맥스카지노However, we맥스카지노re at a tipping point in which the foundational portions of our system 맥스카지노 poles, wires, substations and technology 맥스카지노 are reaching the end of their useful lives.맥스카지노
If approved, the adjustments would likely go into effect after Jan. 1, 2026.
There will be some assistance programs available, the company says.
