Louisville's Big Four Bridge lighting up blue for Mental Health Awareness Month
The Big Four Bridge on the Louisville riverfront will be lit up blue Wednesday in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Louisville is lighting the bridge blue to kick off the awareness month.
The 2025 Bridging the Gap for Mental Health Walk seeks to rally community support for NAMI's mission to bridge the gap in mental health care.
The volunteer celebration is happening from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Big Four Bridge.
"Mental illness impacts over 59 million adults in the U.S., and nearly 20% of children and young people face serious emotional and behavioral struggles," says NAMI. "Suicide remains the second leading cause of death among young adults aged 15맥스카지노24. These statistics underscore the urgent need for continued awareness, support, and advocacy."
The event is about more than recognition. NAMI says it's a call to action.

The event finishes at 8:30 p.m., but attendees are encouraged to stick around for the bridge's full illumination, expected closer to sunset around 8:50 p.m.
