Louisville Cardinals play for chance to return to NCAA Baseball Super Regional
The University of Louisville Cardinals have a chance to go to the NCAA Baseball Super Regional Sunday night with a win.
The Cards continued their road to Omaha as they took on No. 1 Vanderbilt Saturday in the NCAA Regional in Nashville, Tennessee.
In the top of the first inning, Matt Klein hit his second homer in two games, putting Louisville up early 1-0.
By the fifth inning, Zion Rose stepped up with a powerful blast, reclaiming the lead for the Cards at 2-1.
Later that inning, Lucas Moore capitalized on a throwing error at shortstop, allowing another run to score.
At the bottom of the seventh, Louisville maintained a narrow 3-2 lead and managed to hold onto it for the win.
The Cards have another late one Sunday night with a 9 p.m. first pitch scheduled against either Vanderbilt again or Wright State.
The game will be on ESPN+.
If they win, they'll be back in a Super Regional.
