LMPD: 5 people taken to hospital following crash on Gene Snyder in eastern Louisville
Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the Gene Snyder Freeway Sunday afternoon, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Around 2 p.m., TRIMARC reported that two vehicles were involved in a crash in the southbound lanes at mile-marker 35.9 approaching Interstate 71.
LMPD and Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS responded to the scene and found five people with non-life-threatening injuries.
One of the vehicles, an SUV, rolled over in the crash, and several firefighters had to help rescue the driver.
The victims were all transported to a hospital for treatment.
The crash temporarily shut down all southbound lanes in eastern Louisville.
The scene was cleared a little before 4 p.m. with lanes opened back up to traffic.
LMPD Eighth Division is handling the investigation into the crash.
