Man carjacked at gunpoint in Clifton Heights urges drivers to be vigilant
A man who was held at gunpoint and carjacked in the Clifton Heights neighborhood is warning other drivers to stay alert.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, near the 800 block of Edith Road, Johnathan Jarvis said he was held at gunpoint and his black and white 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat was stolen.
He said he had just left the soccer field and loaded his equipment into the trunk when he noticed a masked individual sitting in the driver맥스카지노s seat of his car, tampering with a device that appeared to be meant for stealing his car.
"I jump-scared him," Jarvis said. "And I have a concealed carry in my car. Obviously, I didn맥스카지노t bring it into soccer, and he had it in his lap. When I jump-scared him, he pulled it up and aimed it right at my face and said, 'Give me the keys,' and so I just kind of tossed them to him. It's just not worth losing a life over a car."
Jarvis handed over the keys as the armed thief fled the scene with the Dodge Charger. Another vehicle followed closely behind.
"It맥스카지노s a car I worked hard for, for many years," Jarvis said.
Despite the ordeal, he feels fortunate to escape unharmed.
"I맥스카지노m blessed that he didn맥스카지노t pull the full trigger," Jarvis said.
He hopes the suspects are brought to justice and urges drivers to take preventive measures, such as installing GPS trackers on their vehicles and staying aware of their surroundings.
LMPD said they are investigating.
