We like to sell nostalgia here, but we also want to be as modern as we can to we want to continue to offer the best facilities for our kids," said Manual athletic director David Zuberer.Manual Stadium, a historic landmark in the middle of the Schnitzelburg neighborhood, will feature a new turf field and video scoreboard, along with renovated bathrooms, bleachers, concession stands and press box. Other maintenance work will be done around the facility, such as new fencing, paint and lights. The stadium is a place that holds many memories over the last 100 years, and the hope is that the upgrades will create new ones surrounding Manual athletics and other potential events."We think with a new surface and a modernized facility, we may be able to offer more events of different types that we couldn't do in the past with great service, so that, that's in the back of our minds, other ways we can use the stadium."The construction started in March and still has a number of phases until the project is complete. Manual fans and alumni can follow the progress and donate to the project through a website created by the athletic department.
