A man died in a Meade County crash Saturday night, according to Kentucky State Police.
Around 11:15 p.m., KSP responded to a two-vehicle collision near the 4100 block of Payneville Road.
Troopers determined that Robert Eldridge, 20, of Battletown, was driving a car west on KY-144 when he tried to pass another vehicle before striking a pickup truck head on in the eastbound lane.
Eldridge was pronounced dead at the scene by the Meade County Coroner's Office.
A passenger in Eldridge's vehicle and the driver of the pickup truck were flown to UofL Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
KSP said the pickup truck's driver is a 44-year-old man from Louisville.
There is no word on their current conditions at this time.
The affected portion of KY-144 was closed for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision.
