Semi removed after dangling off Clark Memorial Bridge for hours, driver rescued
A semi was left dangling off the side of the Clark Memorial/2nd Street bridge for hours after a crash involving several vehicles.
The crash, involving four vehicles total, happened Friday around 12:04 p.m. A driver hit a stalled car, crossed the center line and then plowed into a semi. The semi then went over the edge with the driver stuck in the cab.
Officials said at least one person has life-threatening injuries.
Just before 6:45 p.m., crews completely pulled the semi back onto the bridge, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says it was towed away just before 8 p.m.
KYTC engineers then began to inspect the bridge.
