Chief: Off-duty Jeffersontown officer responds to call, shoots person during confrontation
An off-duty officer fatally shot someone during a response to a neighborhood in Jeffersontown.
It happened Tuesday afternoon on Robsion Drive.
Chief Rick Sanders said several people in that area called police and reported that someone was going up and down the road, knocking out windows and "acting strange."
An off-duty officer in street clothes, who lives in the area, responded to the call. Sanders said the officer confronted the person and then, at some point, the officer fired a shot.

He could not provided further details about the confrontation, when asked.
"I don't know, it's too early, really, to get into all that. But when we get it, we'll release it," he said.
It's also unclear whether the person was armed.
The officer was not injured, Sanders said. He is a former Louisville Metro Police officer. Sanders said he was not wearing a body-worn camera, as he was in plain clothes at the time.
There is believed to be footage connected to the case from other sources.
Kentucky State Police will investigate the shooting.
