This study amis to identify the essence of the case management performed by elementary school social workers. We conducted in-depth interviews of seven school social workers who had experiences of case management at elementary schools in Gyeonggi Province. With regard to qualitative data analysis, we applied Giorgi's phenomenological research methodology From the interviewees' case management experiences, we derived seven constituents and 19 sub-constituents. The seven constituents are 1) ¡°Concept: Finding the significance in the ambiguity between external formness and internal formlessness, 2) Perspective: Viewing from a strength perspective, 3) Discovery/Assessment: Overcoming selectivity issues and conducting a client-oriented check, 4) Implementation: Understanding the lives of clients with Authenticity from a long-term perspective, accompanying in a sensitively responsive manner and empowering clients-families, 5) Integration Gains/Evaluation: Completing in a natural manner and recognizing qualitative changes that can not be detected via quantitative evaluation, 6) Administrative work: Overcoming excessive workload, and 7) Network/Supervision: Learning and gathering earnestly. The general structural statement of case management experiences that we derived from these constituents is ¡°Accompanying in a responsive manner with authenticity and becoming a change agent for helping the Subjective Lives.¡± Based on these results, we presented our recommendations in this study.
