    This research explores major missiological trends and tasks of the Church of the Nazarene with special reference to Johannesburg 2014, namely the Nazarene Global Theology Conference III. The body of the paper consists of three parts in the following order: observation, evaluation, and suggestion. The first part is an observer-based description of Johannesburg 2014; the second part is an evaluative discussion of the conference papers alongside with Nazarene official documents for the extraction of Nazarene missiological trends; and the last part is a proposed investigation of the denominationโ€™s missiological tasks.
    As a result of the research, the Church of the Nazarene turns out to have a preference for 1) Christocentric missiology; 2) power encounter; 3) critical contextualization; and 4) compassion evangelism. These trends fall behind the contemporary missiological streams of thought, which challenges the denomination to move towards 1) Trinitarian missiology with missio Dei as its frame of reference; 2) wholistic encounter inclusive of power, truth, love, and allegiance; 3) exploratory contextualization in support of self-theological rights; and 4) Kingdom evangelism in pursuit of spiritual, social, and ecological salvation.
