    Recently it is diverting from the positivistic view point of 20th century to the contextualism of post modernism. The career study and counseling should definitely switch the method to understand the human behaviors in the context. The present study was to observe the relationship between Holland codes through the Occupational Card Sort as a qualitative assessment tool and the decision making ability and the career maturity. To achieve this purpose, the Occupational Card Sort had been implemented to 183 middle and high school students and 258 university students. We operated the Occupational Card Sort to 17 subjects one to one for the case studies. As the result of the study, the middle and high school students showed the high distribution in the interest area of Social and Artistic Environment, while university students showed it in the Enterprising and Social Environment. The 48.6% of the middle and high school students and 44.2% of the university students had low consistency in the codes or none. Many information had been able to collected through the observation and interpretation of the number of the cards that were categorized; self-concept, the level of comprehensiveness about the job world, cognitive process and career attitude. And also the amount of time to finish the whole sorting process provided the first step to search the decision making pattern while the analysis of life-career themes showed the career maturity level. This study is an attempt toward the possibility of the contextual view point in the career education through the analysis of the career interest type, decision making pattern, career attitude, self-concept, view of the job world, career maturity level of the students with the qualitative assessment tool, Occupational Card Sort.
