학습자왿� AI 간 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 요인 탐색 (Exploring factors influencing interaction between learners and AI)

최근 AI 기반 교육에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있으나, 학습자왿� AI 간 상호작용에 대한 체계적인 연구는 부족한 편이다. AI에 대한 지식과 경험이 부족한 학습자일수록 AI왿� 상호작용하는 데 어려움을 겪거나 AI를 잘못 사용할 우려가 있다. AI 기반 교육의 효과를 향상시키기 위해 학습자왿� AI 간 상호작용 양상을 분석하고 맞춤형 학습 지원을 제공할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 학습자왿� AI 간 상호작용 양상을 유형화하고 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 30명의 대학생과 댿�학원생이 Tooning을 활용한 네컷 만화 그리기왿� QuillBot을 활용한 영어 작문 과제를 수행하고 개별 면담에 참여하였다. 면담 자료를 질적으로 분석한 결과, 학습자왿� AI 시스템의 역할과 관계에 따라 AI 의존적, 인간 주도적, 협력적 상호작용 유형이 도출되었다. 학습자가 AI왿� 얼마나 자주 상호작용하는지왿� 얼마나 주도적으로 활동에 참여하는지에 따라 상호작용 양상이 달라졌다. 그리고 학습자 역량, AI 시스템의 기능과 디자인, 과제 특성, 상호작용 맥락에 따라서 AI왿� 상호작용하는 양상이 달라졌다. 특히, AI 시스템에 대한 지식과 사용경험이 많고, AI에 대해 긍정적 태도를 가지며, 과제에 대한 지식과 자기조절학습 능력이 높은 학습자일수록 AI 시스템과 협력적으로 상호작용하는 양상을 보였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 AI 시대에 필요한 교육의 방향을 설정하고 AI 활용 수업의 설계원리를 개발하는 데 주요한 시사점을 제공한다.

Interest in AI-based education has grown significantly, but there is a lack of systematic research on how learners interact with AI systems. Learners with limited AI knowledge and experience may face substantial difficulties in engaging with AI systems. For effective AI-based education, it is essential to analyze the patterns of interaction between learners and AI and to provide personalized learning support. This study aims to categorize the patterns of interaction between learners and AI and to explore the factors that influence these interactions. In this study, 30 undergraduate and graduate students participated in AI-based tasks, which involved drawing a four-panel comic with Tooning and writing an English essay using QuillBot, followed by individual interviews. A qualitative analysis of the interview data revealed three types of interaction: AI-dependent, human-driven, and collaborative interactions. The interaction patterns varied depending on how frequently learners interacted with AI and how much agency they demonstrated in engaging with the task. In addition, the nature of the interactions was influenced by the factors including learner competencies, AI systems’ function and design, task characteristics, and interaction contexts. Particularly, learners with more knowledge and experience in AI, positive attitudes toward it, task-related knowledge, and self-regulated learning abilities were more likely to interact with AI in a collaborative way. These findings provide key insights for shaping the future direction of education in the AI era and for exploring the design principles underlying teaching with AI systems.
