During the sinking of the Sewol Ferry in 2014, the passengers lost their lives by not escaping but following the direction 'to stay where you are'. Their passive uncritical behavior and their thoughtlessness was one of the causes of the catastrophe. And one considers 'the ability to think' as a preventive measures of the catastrophe. - The study researchs 'thinking' in its different aspects. Some philosophers like Kant, Aristotle and Arendt are called hear. It shows us the forms of thinking: non-thinking and thinking without rationality, the enlightened thinking, prudence and self-contained thinking. In conclusion, the study argues that the 'critical thinking' can prevent ‘the second catastrophe’ and describes its modified concept at each step of the sinking of the Sewol ferry.????
