This study examined the source text and characteristics of Bulseol daebo bumo eunjunggyeong (eonhae) [���f���ĸ���ؽ�(�V��), Sakyamuni��s Teaching on Parental Love (Korean annotation]] (hereinafter Eunjunggyeong eonhae) published in 1577 (10th year of King Seonjo��s reign) at Simwonsa Temple in Cheorwon. While 42 editions of Eunjunggyeong eonhae were known meanwhile, a total of its 44 editions have been confirmed by this study. Of the two newly added editions, a volume owned by Jon-gyeonggak, Sungkyunkwan University is the only extant volume of Eunjunggyeong eonhae published at Simwonsa Temple in Cheorwon (hereinafter Simwonsa Temple edition).
As for the Simwonsa Temple edition housed by Jon-gyeonggak, Sungkyunkwan University, the period and location of its publication can be easily identified because yeonhwajil (������, a list of involved individuals) and gan-gi (��ӛ, colophon) have been preserved relatively intact, though Chapters 12~13 and Chapters 17~20 are missing. From them, it is confirmed that the Simwonsa Temple edition is one edition of Eunjunggyeong eonhae published in Gangwon-do during the era of the Joseon Dynasty, and is the oldest edition published in Gangwon-do. Although Edition stored (����) is written at the end of the gangi (colophon) of the Simwonsa Temple edition, it is presumed that the Simwonsa Temple edition was published at Simwonsa Temple, considering that Saddharmapundarika Sutra (�ɏ�A��, The Lotus Sutra) was published at Simwonsa Temple three years before the publication of the Simwonsa Temple edition.
In view of its text and the characteristics of its iconography, it is presumed that the source text of the Simwonsa Temple edition was the Hwajangsa Temple edition published in 1553, and the Simwonsa Temple edition is characterized by the trace of correcting ��?�� in the final consonant placed under a vowel. It is deemed that geographical characteristics also had some effects on the reason why the Simwonsa Temple used the Hwajangsa Temple edition as the source text. Besides introducing the Simwonsa Temple edition, this study also introduces new locations that house the Jeonju edition and the Heungboksa Temple edition, and summarizes the editions of Eunjunggyeong eonhae identified until now, with adding the 1583 edition of Eunjunggyeong eonhae published at Somasa Temple, Goesan.
