Making a new family may be a point of intersection in someone's life. The marriage has ultimately a biological purpose. The marriage seeks the survivorship of species, but on the other hand, it aims to make a connection with societies and communities.
Through the plentiful rituals of folklore and religion such as the 'Nuptial Rites', the young people keep the family and community safe and lead the daily life to the sacred world. The crossing from 'profane' to 'sacred' gives the capacity to the humans to create themselves. The marriage is not only the event or the spectacle of village, but also is a step of the rites of passage which circulates permanently the human's life through the nuptial rite.
Through the sacred combinations of pairs, like of bride's apple tree and the fir, bride's dish and the nuptial flag, bride's bread 'colac' and the decorated flagpole, and through the two dedicatory ceremonies as the 'Ceremonial Coronet(Cununia)' and 'Col?c?ria (the traditional ceremony in which the godmother gives some pieces of bread 'colac' to the bride during the wedding reception)', the bride and bridegroom receive the new social-religious rights and the capacity of the preservation of the species All the connections and ritual steps of the newly-married couple in the nuptial rites are symbolic of the fortune, richness, fecundity and fertility, so the guests of wedding try also to share all through the participating in this nuptial rites. Besides, the bride and bridegroom's costumes which are kept after the wedding will be used as a swaddling clothes for a new baby or will be shrouded the body in his/her last hours. Furthermore, modern customs related with the nuptial rites are being as ever created. Whether the past or the modern rituals, all these are explained by the wish of the sacred transition through the direct and indirect contacts with the bride and bridegroom.
The nuptial Rite, regardlessly from the marriage of primitive times until to the marriage of today, is a rite in itself, the initiatory rite of passage and the sacred manifestation.
