This thesis is studied about the problem of public speech and seek a concept and necessity of public speech, its concrete educational method. To allow for social demand of speech ability, the public speech education is important subject of education for students. According to the results of the survey, the ability of should be taught in college is communication ability. Good communication is needed necessary in modern society for everyone. Through an improve speaking ability in public situation, it can help making the most of his ability and living in harmonious organization. To summarize the discussions until now as a conclusion is as in the following.
First, it is studied about the concept of public speech and its necessity. A public speech is defined a utterance scene, a relationship of speaker and listener, and utterance aim. That is to say, public speech is a speaking of utterance scene to the masses, objective relationship of speaker and listener, utterance to first public purpose. After understanding of these concept accurately, speech activity of special genre(announce, discuss, debate, presentation, and interview etc.) should be educated.
Second, the problem of public speech is classified into vocabulary choice, sentence expression, and the others. And the each problem analyzes basis of student¡¯s announcement. In vocabulary choice, an embarrassing word that speaks in public situation utters without constraint, and a word of improper means is spoken wrong. In sentence expression, there are often to speak faulty sentence. And the others, it is considered the problem of nonverbal communication. These problems disturb a good communication and it is the biggest obstacle to deliver speaker¡¯s message, it needs positive action.
Third, a educational method of public speech seek for solution in four types, reading activation, summary concrete, word education substantiality, and nonverbal communication education. Through reading activities, a necessary concept for speaking can be prepared. Through summary of reading, an ability of picking out the important contents can be developed. And through a substantial of word education, it can help to convey the message. Finally a nonverbal communication about a good position and attitude, height of the voice, and pronunciation for public speech should be educate, a speaking attitude for public speech can achieve.
