Literature education aims to maximize the value of humanity and the human nature, and this correspond with the aim of multi-cultural education - ¡®respect for the human rights and dignity.¡¯ Especially, since childhood is an opportune period to develop a sense of identity and understanding of others, education through multi-cultural children¡¯s literature can be an effective way to establish a proper perception and attitude toward a multicultural society. When the character of a multicultural group became the main character of a story, it is desirable for the character to help acquire a positive identity for minority group readers. To effectively cope with the multicultural education, the education curriculum and textbooks should be effectively organized. As a result of review of the current curriculum, however, Korean language textbook is not relevant with multicultrual education, and few multicultrual stories were contained in the textbook. To maximize the performance of multicultural education, it is needed to properly integrate the Objective-Oriented Textbook Structure and the Text-Oriented Textbook Structure.
