    This study attempted to expose discourses regarding ECEC in the changing Korean context through conversations on an alternative child care program, Gongdong-yugah. Video-cued focus group interview was employed as a method. Data were collected from 30 inside participants from Gongdong-yugah programs and 38 outside participants from general ECEC programs. Throughout the focus group interviews, discourses regarding issues on ECEC discussed by the two groups emerged, which contrasted and exposed unique beliefs within each group: (1) images of teachers, (2) readiness issues, (3) issues embedded in daily practices such as mixed-age activities, playthings, and safety. These discourses were analyzed through Bakhtinian theory, Foucault's perspective, and the studies from the reconceptualizing early childhood education literature.
