Hongdang[����] who was born in Uiryeong-gun[�ˌ�] and lived from 1892 to 1964. He left a collection of his works that is called Hongdangmonjip[�����ļ�]. He is an honest and upright person. This paper investigated into Hongdangmonjip[�����ļ�] and find out what he is and he is doing in his life time.
Hongdang[����] succeed to the philosophy of Neo-Confucianism. And his thinking was based on the phlisopher of Leehuang���. And when he was 23, he went to SimZe���S and received lessons and he is a monitor of his student.
During 1919 peace conference in Paris, many Korean confucian scholars who is the teacher of Hongdang[����] like MunWoo�a�� and HyeBong�ލo intnded to give message to 1919 peace conference in Paris. But Japanese official found out that happening and sent many Korean confucian scholars like MunWoo�a�� and HyeBong�ލo.
At his life time Confucianism is on the decline. Many Confucian scholar think that things are circulating, so someday Confucianism recover its previous prosperity. And Hongdang[����] also have thinking, so maintains his way of life style shuh as memoring Confucian books everyday and pay his respoct to the household shrine everyday.
And there are many independent activists around his acquaintance like MunWoo�a�� and HyeBong�ލo. About 400 hundreds years ago from Hongdang[����], there was a Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. In this war many NamMung��ڤ's pupils participated in this war around the province of in Uiryeong-gun[�ˌ�]. And among this pupil, JiBong֥�o who is the ancestors of Hongdang[����].
Maybe Hongdang[����] is one of the last Confucianist Who lives and studies Confucian books.
