Hyodang(•ÔÌÃ) Choi Beom-sul(´Þ·²Êö) has learned tea life since he was young. He also led tea life by cultivating and making teas in Dasolsa(¶àÂÊËÂ) during the Japanese colonial era. Since the 1960s, Choi Beom-sul has worked hard to discover and educate traditional Korean tea culture. So he raised many tea masters. As a result, he revived the Korean tea culture that had been falling apart. Therefore, it is not too much to regard him as the man who promoted modern Korean tea culture.
Meanwhile, Choi Beom-sul formed the ¡°Hankuk Chado-hoe(ín‡ø²èµÀ•þ)¡± based on the help of Chae Jeong-bok, a student and wife. It was Korea's first nationwide tea culture organization, followed by similar groups that began to be set up. A representative group is the ¡°Korean Tea Master's Association(ín‡ø²èÈË•þ)¡±, which was formed two years after its foundation.
