Currently available editions of Jinpingmei can be classified into three major versions��Cihuan-ben(�~Ԓ��), Chongzheng-ben(�絝��), Diyiqishu-ben(��һ�����). The Diyiqishu-ben is the most popular version founded in China and even in Korea until the Cihuan-ben edition was found in 1932. The Chongzheng-ben and the Diyiqishu-ben are popular versions in Korea, however, the Cihuan-ben is not discovered.
The Gaohetangpiping Diyiqishu Jinpingmei(�w�Q�����u��һ�����J÷)in the Ewha Womans University Library's Collection belongs to Diyiqishu-ben version. Five editions in four university libraries (Korea, Seoul national, Yonsei, Dong-A) and one national archive (Kyujanggak Institute) are Diyiqishu-ben version and all contain pre-chapter's comments unlike the edition in Ewha university library.
The Diyiqishu-ben edition in Ewha is quite similar to the First Edition of Diyiqishu-ben which is in the Dalian Library Collection. Especially it contains the last 227 characters of Youyishuo(Ԣ���f), which is one of major characteristics of Dalian Library Collection. Even though there is no solid proof, the edition in the Ewha library seems to be a reprint edition of the Dalian version or its successor. However, the Ewha edition does not seem to be a direct reprint of the Dalian version since it does not contain pre-chapter's comments and the order of supplements is different. After it was copied in China without pre-chapter's comments and illustrations in order to reduce production cost, it might be binding again in Korea.
