This study investigated the effectiveness of Tandem learning through a survey of Japanese and Korean students who participated in tandem classes. The qualitative analysis of participants' reasons for satisfaction confirmed that Tandem learning effectively achieves the three main objectives of these classes: improving target language proficiency, enhancing intercultural understanding and interpersonal exchange, and fostering self-directed learning skills. Additionally, it was found that experiential learning activities significantly support the tandem learning process.
These findings are expected to provide useful insights for educators aiming to introduce or implement Tandem learning methods in foreign language education. Furthermore, this Tandem learning approach, which allows international and Korean students to study together, may contribute to the broader adoption of such methods in Korean universities.????
