A lot of civilization and things had been income on one's own initiative or compulsory in modern culture the formative period centering around Kyoung-seong which is a colony. Kyoung-seong has to get the conflict between modern and premodern. After 30 years from incoming the civilization, people of every class get different ways which take other country culture. The people who has high class use aggressively the benefits of civilization. They ran on the street so fast and went shopping at a department store and spent a lot of their times in the cafeteria. Their car has seemed to be a behavior of violence. The people who has low level-an orphan, a beggar, a merchant of chestnut, a merchant of vegetable and so on-has the feeling of being victimized about the civilization. They are menaced by the car and have feeling of ridicule with a street lamp.
The students who are an intellectual showed sign of fatigue about the train and especially were obsessed by the clock. They couldn't sleep for all night because of clock noisy. The suffer from insomnia made them understand the life with intellect and they could understand suffering of the people. But they were the people who high class in one percentage and were students. So they could know the suffering of the people but they couldn't translate an idea into action for the people. It made them be tired and get exhausted.
