The purpose of this study is to derive policy implications for career guidance by analyzing career decision networks of specialized high school students. In this study, the network of relationships established to share information and opinions about one's career path was viewed as a ��career decision network�� in a comprehensive meaning. Among the second graders of specialized high school, 141 students participated in the study. Network analysis was conducted by groups based on gender, affiliation of apprentice class, and career plan after graduation divided into in-school and out-school network. The findings and implications are as follows: First, one out of four students was found to be isolated without any connections on the in-school network, with more than 80% of male students. Second, the operation of the apprentice class caused separation within major, and network of students planning to get a job after graduation was not activated even though they were in a large number. Third, a comparison of networks by group revealed that teachers are the key figures in every active networks. Finally, career decision networks formed outside of school have been shown to be largely home-based. This suggests the need to consider isolated and male students in career guidance, expand career and job support programs, strengthen the role of teachers in career education, and establish back up systems to secure links between school and home career education.
