The records of the last ruler in Old Joseon, who was expelled by Wiman, were examined to show that each of his name and the asylum��s name was changed into more specific one, respectively : ��Hanseo��(�n��) to ��King Chun��(����); ��Midst of Sea��(����) to ��Hanji��(�n��) or ��Seonguk��(�r��) and ��Mahan��(�R�n). Such transition seems to be resulted from the acquisition of new data, though it needs to carefully consider the addition of the association with Gija(����), due to the effect of the theory of Gija Joseon. The migration from the Old Joseon region to the Han region and the exchange between them are also specifically verified in the archaeological data, and therefore, it can be found that the historicity of the tradition about King Chun is sufficiently reliable.
It is possible to locate the region in which King Chun settled down in the Chungnam-Jeonbuk region, by examining literature/archaeological data. From the region, the tradition and the place name, which were related with King Chun, have been adequately transmitted. The fact that there is the tradition in which the region which King Chun first reached was Naripo can be focused on. It was found that the this region began to develop iron-culture much earlier than other regions, as new archaeological data regarding the Mangyeong river basin including Jeonbuk Innovation City. It is thus possible to regard the regions including Jeonju or Iksan and Jeonju as King Chun�� southward migration regions.
On the other hand, place names related with the bear and the legend of Gomnaru, which seem to be associated with the birth myth of Old Joseon, have been transmitted in the Gongju region. The might be place names related with the bear in not only the Gongju region, but also the Iksan region.
It is necessary to closely examine the archaeological data as well as the tradition and place names, which are related with King Chun.
