The study started with the question of why the face of Taiwanese singer Jay Chou appeared in the magazine ��FUXING AVENUE No. 70��, which was presented on the official Weibo of the People��s Daily to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People��s Republic of China in 2019. In order to find the answer to the question, five of his early Chinese-style music were considered in three stages: textual practice, discoursive practice, and social practice based on Fairclough��s Critical Discourse Analysis(CDA). Chinese-style music text, created by the collaboration of Jay Chou and Vincent Fang, was able to be created steadily thanks to the explosive popularity gained from the Chinese public. In the early 2000s, when the two artists began working, a political, economic, social and cultural foundation was laid within China for Chinese-style music to settle in the market. Interest and enthusiasm for traditional culture among teenagers increased, and nationalism centered on patriotism was also full, so Chinese-style music was discursively practiced with their sympathy. Social practice appeared as a way for Chinese-style music to form discourse in the political domain beyond the level of cultural icons. Jay Chou and Vincent Fang, who were from Taiwan and were not fully included in the ��People��s Republic of China,�� reconstructed their imagination of the Chinese people through Chinese-style music and were recognized by Chinese officials for helping them shed the history of the ��100 years of shame.��
