The Korean wave is taking over not only every country in the South East Asia, China, Taiwan, Mongolia, but also Islamic, Russian, Latin American countries andEurope, Canada, and the US.
The exchange between the Korean culture and the world has continuallyshown throughout the history and it is now taking over widerregion under the name of the ��Korean Wave��, or ��Hallyu��.
Korea was given multiple status. From the Westernpoint of view, Korea is an Asian country which was westernized through compressed growth.
From the Asian point of view, it is a country which plays a bridging role between the eastern and western culture as well as being a role model of development.
As the world went through turbulent times, Koreabegan playingmore significantrole as the key bridge between the two different cultures.
It is also worth mentioning that since the successful democratization, the people of Korea started to recognize themselves as citizens of the world as Korea became less excluded from the rest of the North East Asian countries.
Consequently, Hallyu was not just the world paying attention to the Korean culture, but also an opportunity for Korea toovercomeethno cultural centrism or nationalism, and to widely open itself to other cultureswhich ultimately enabledcertain level ofmutual understanding between Korea and the world.
