?? ??? ??? ??? ? ????? ?? ?? (Date Estimation of the Excavated Costumes from an Unknown Tomb from Guam-ri site, Sacheon, Gyeongsangnamdo, Korea)

This is a study for the presumption of the burial date through historical pattern of costumes. The excavated costumes was obtained from Guam-ri Site, Sacheon, Gyeongsangnamdo, Korea by Gyeong-Sang Cultural Heritage Research Center. The excavated specimen composed with a piece of Jungchi-mak(men¡¯s coat), 2 pieces of Jang-ot(women¡¯s coats), 6 pieces of Jeogori(women¡¯s jacket), 2 pieces of Chima(skirts), 3 pieces of Paji(drawers) and 3 pieces of Busun(socks) and the some of instruments for a funeral. The purpose of study is, estimating the burial date through the comparative study with the recorded costume patterns during the periods of Joseon Dynasty. Characteristics of excavated costumes are followed. First, the excavated Jungchi-mak has the similar shape of sleeves, size, and length of slits with same patterns in certain period of Joseon Dynasty. Second, Burial date is possibly estimated from the same time of shape of Mokpan-Git(square collar), shape of sleeve, proportion of the Jeogori, and existence of a triangular gusset under the arm. Third, Using the Kal-Git(knife shape collar) style Jeogori for women¡¯s shroud and Somoja(scull cap) from excavated women¡¯s tombs for shroud is able to make conclusive date of burial. Observing the patterns of excavated costumes and comparing with recorded pattern type, the burial date of excavated costumes from Guam-Ri site is assumed to be early 17th century(1620-1650).
