대학의 긿�쓰기 비교과 프로그램에서 튜터링의 교육적 효과 (The educational effect of tutoring in a non-curricular writing program at a university)

본 연구는 대학생을 대상으로 시행한 튜터링 프로그램이 학술적 긿�쓰기 향상에 미친 교육적 효과를 검토하는 데 목적을 두었다. 지방 소재 4년제 사립대학인 K대학에서 2017년부터 운영하는 긿�쓰기 관련 비교과 프로그램인 “A+리포트 튜터링” 프로그램의 목적과 의의를 밝혔다. 이 프로그램은 훈련된 튜터가 리포트 작성에 미숙한 신입생(튜티)에게 리포트 작성의 노폙우를 알려주는 것을 목적으로 한다. 동료 튜터링방식을 택함으로써 튜터왿� 튜티의 상호 성장을 꾀한다는 점이 가장 중요한 특징이다.
튜터링 설계과정에서 튜터의 전문성과 튜터링의 균질성을 확보하기 위해 실제 튜터링과 함께 튜터교육 프로그램을 병행하였다. 10주간의 튜터 양성교육에서는 긿�쓰기 기초 문법, 학술적 긿�쓰기의 특징, 모의 튜터링을 다루었다. 튜터로 활동하고 있는학생들을 대상으로 튜터 보수교육을 학기마다 실시하여 균질한 튜터링을 제공할 수있게 하였다.
튜터링 운영 결과 튜티들은 학술적 긿�쓰기에 대한 자기효등감이 유의미하게 상승한 것으로 나타났다. 그 중에서 인용과 주석 등, 학술적 긿�쓰기에서 요구되는 절차적지식에 대한 자신감이 가장 높이 상승하였다. 반면 문장의 정확성에 대한 문항은 상승폭이 가장 저조했다. 튜터링은 튜터에게도 큰 영향을 미친 것으로 파악된다. 튜터는 지속적인 튜터링을 통해 글을 객관화하고 검토하는 과정을 반복함으로써 자기 성장을 이룰 수 있었던 것으로 파악했다.

This study examined the educational effect of a tutoring program for university students on the improvement of academic writing. The purpose and significance of the “A+Report Tutoring” program, a non-curricular program that has been operating since 2017 at K University, a four-year private university located in the province, was revealed. This program trained tutors to teach new students (tutees) who are inexperienced in writing reports the competence of report writing. The most important feature is mutual growth between the tutors by adopting the peer tutoring method.
The tutoring education program was conducted in parallel with the actual tutor ing to secure the professionalism of the tutor and the homogeneity of the tutoring in the design process. In the 10-week program, basic grammar of writing, charac teristics of academic writing, and mock tutoring were covered. Tutor maintenance education is conducted every semester for students who are working as tutors to provide uniform tutoring.
It was found that students’ self-efficacy in academic writing increased significant ly with this program. Among them, confidence in procedural knowledge required for academic writing, such as citation and commentary, rose the most. On the other hand, items on the accuracy of sentences showed the lowest rise. Tutoring had a great influence on tutors as well; they were able to achieve self-growth by repeating the process of objectifying and reviewing texts through continuous tutoring.
