An, Jeonga(2015), “A Study on the Meaning and Function of the Discourse Marker Derived from Adverbs - ‘kunyang’, ‘mak’, ‘jom’,” Language & Information Society 26. The purpose of this study is to analyze the discourse functions of ‘kunyang’, ‘mak’, ‘jom’ and to investigate common and distinct properties of the discourse markers derived from adverb. As a result, the common properties of ‘kunyang’, ‘mak’, ‘jom’ as a discourse maker are analyzed three functions, i.e. 1)maintenance of utterance, 2)focusing and 3)emphasizing. The distinct properties of discourse marker ‘kunyang’, ‘mak’, ‘jom’ are 〈mitigating〉 and 〈intensifying〉broadly. At first, the opposition between 〈mitigating〉 and 〈intensifying〉 is a main feature to distinguish ‘kunyang’, ‘jom’ from ‘mak’ and in sequence ‘kunyang’ and ‘jom’ are distinguished in [degree] property.????
