Otogibouko, which is called the first Japanese Ganajoshi, is a strange story adapted from China��s Jeondeungsinhwa, Jeondeungyeohwa, The Ojo Novel, and Joseon Dynasty��s Geumosinhwa. In Otogibouko, the author does not deviate much from the scope of the original work, but the detailed description such as historical background, characters, places, and events is completely transformed from a Chinese style to a Japanese style. Previous research claims that among the works written by Asai Ryoi, most of the stories related to Takeda Shingen refer to events recorded in the military, such as Houjougodaikii and Kouyougunkan. However, it was found that quite a number of stories written by Asai Ryoi featuring characters of the Takeda family were based on Mikawagofudouki. This article examines this relationship focusing on the stories related to the Takeda family included in three military books written by Asai Ryoi, Kamakurakyudaiki, Inuhariko, known as the sequel of Otogibouko, and Otogibouko with Mikawagofudouki. Additionally, this study examines how the character of Takeda Shingen in Mikawagofudouki influenced Takeda Shingen in Otogibouko.
