The purpose of this study is to examine clarify the ��Pro-Japanese activities and distortion of history by Lee Neung Hwa�� during the Korean Empire period and Japanese empire��s colonial rule in more details by covering as much as records and historical records related to Lee Neung Hwa and the existing researches on ��Pro-Japanese activities and distortion of history by Lee Neung Hwa�� by Lee E-Hwa, Research Institute for Anti-Nationalism Issues, Presidential Committee for the Inspection of Collaborations for Japanese Imperialism, Pro-Japanese Collaborator Dictionary Compilation Committee, The Center for Historical Truth and Justice, Sayaka Mizutani, and Lee Jeong Nam.
As clarified in this study, Lee Neung Hwa committed the pro-Japanese and anti-national activities in a practical and detained in various aspects. He clearly collaborated with the Japanese colonial rule during the colonial period, appointed as a high-ranking official by the Japanese empire, and got numbers of rewards and medals. In addition, Lee Neung Hwa was actively involved in the Korean History Compilation Committee, pro-Japanese Buddhist organizations, pro-Japanese societies, and pro-Japanese organizations to lead in distorting the Korean history and advocating the colonialism. He even wrote and dedicated a Chinese poem titled [Hwanghwamannunzigok] praising the Japanese emperors, including Emperor Meiji and Emperor Showa, and rationalize the Japanese empire��s colonial rule on the Joseon Dynasty. In other words, Lee Neung Hwa went beyond simply participating in compiling a distorted history of Joseon Dynasty. Instead, Lee Neung Hwa was pro-Japanese and anti-nationalist who carried out pro-Japanese activities in a practical and detailed manner in various aspects through different routes. Lee Neung Hwa was also a government-patronized and pro-Japanese scholar in the modern Korean history.
