대중교통 승차권 발권기의 노인, 장애인 접근성을 위한 디자인 가이드라인 연구 (Design Guidelines for Accessibility of Public Transportation Ticket Machines to the Elderly and Disabled)

철도, 고속버스, 전철 등 대중교통에서 역무자동화설비로 인해 기존의 현장 창구에서 이루어지던 승차권 발권이 점차 모바일로 대체되고 있으며, 현장에서도 무인발권기가 확대되고 있었다. 장애인 단체의 조사에 따르면, 대중교통에 설치된 무인발권기는 비장애 성인의 사용범위에 설계되어 노인, 장애인의 접근성이 보장되지 않았다. 본 연구는 대중교통 승차권 발권기의 노인과 장애인에 대한 접근성을 분석하고 개선요소를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 연구방법으로 현장조사를통해 대중교통에 설치된 무인발권기의 접근성을 점검하였고, 선행연구를 통해 물리적, UI 요소의 접근성 가이드라인을 분석하였다. 국내외 승차권 발매기의 물리적, UI 요소의 접근성을 개선한 사례를 참고하였고, 가이드라인의 시사점을 제시하였다. 수동, 전동휠체어 사용자의 무인발권기 접근성을 위해 기기의 하부공간은 무릎 및 발판이 들어갈 수 있도록 크기가확보되어야 하고, 터치스크린 주요 버튼과 조작부의 높이는 1100mm 중심으로 유효조작영역으로 설정되어야 한다. 노인또는 약시자의 조작 접근성을 위해 화면확대, 고대비, 화면낮게왿� 같은 시인성 확보왿� 화면영역을 3-4의 프레임을 설정하여 지정된 정보왿� 기능을 일관된 레이아웃으로 제공할 필요가 있었다. 본 연구에서 가이드라인의 개선 시사점은 공공 교통시설 중의 하나인 승차권 발권기에 대해 노인 및 장애자이 사용 편의성을 강조하며, 궁극적으로는 노인과 장애인의 이동권을 보장하고 사회적 통합에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Due to station automation equipment in public transportation such as railways, express buses, and subways, ticket issuance that used to be done at existing on-site counters is gradually being replaced by mobile devices, and unmanned ticket issuing machines are expanding at sites as well. According to a survey by a disabled group, the unmanned ticket machines installed in public transportation were designed for use by non-disabled adults, so accessibility for the elderly and disabled was not guaranteed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the accessibility of public transportation ticket machines to the elderly and the disabled and to derive improvement factors. As a research method, the accessibility of unmanned ticket machines installed in public transportation was examined through field surveys, and accessibility guidelines for physical and UI elements were analyzed through prior research.
Cases of improving the accessibility of physical and UI elements of ticket vending machines at home and abroad were referred to, and implications of the guidelines were presented. As a result of the study, in order to ensure accessibility to the unmanned ticket issuing machine for users of manual and electric wheelchairs, the space at the bottom of the machine must be sized to accommodate knees and footrests, and the height of the main touch screen buttons and control panel must be set to an effective operating area centered at 1100 mm. To ensure accessibility for the elderly or those with low vision, it was necessary to provide designated information and functions in a consistent layout by ensuring visibility such as enlarging the screen, high contrast, and lowering the screen, and setting the screen area to 3-4 frames. The improvement implications of the guidelines in this study emphasize the convenience of the elderly and the disabled in using ticket machines, which are one of the public transportation facilities, and are expected to ultimately guarantee the mobility rights of the elderly and the disabled and contribute to social integration.
