This study sought to examine how pansori��s emotional and regional foundations are revealed by examining the pansori stories enjoyed mainly in the Chungcheong region. In particular, the relationship between Joonggoje and local sentiment was analyzed, focusing on works identified as Goje and Joonggoje editorials. For this purpose, the themes and meanings of the lyrics dealt with in early pansori were identified, focusing on the editorials of Yu Jin-han��s ��Chunhyang-ga�� and Bang Jin-gwan��s ��Simcheong-ga.�� First, the sentiment of nobleman culture is strongly revealed in Yu Jin-han��s ��Chunhyang-ga��, a Chinese poem written in lyric style, which has the status of being the oldest ��Chunhyang-ga�� and can also be said to be the first work of the ��Chunhyang-ga�� editorial. It was developed as a Chinese poem and includes the cultural traditions of noblemen; therefore, it can be said to have a strong connection with the pungryu of the time.
Second, realistic and critical sentiments are revealed in Yu Jin-han��s ��Chunhyang-ga.�� Based on the Chunhyang tale, the situation of the aristocrat Lee Do-ryeong and his contemporary life are portrayed very realistically, and it functions to criticize class society by depicting his love that transcends social status for the gisaeng Chunhyang.
Third, there is an enterprising sentiment. Yu Jin-han was famous as a writer in Chungcheong Province and was a local fan who interacted with many writers of the time, including Eunseok Sisa, and opened a poetry circle. Through ��Chunhyang-ga,�� we can see that the Chungcheong region became the home of new culture and arts and the foundation for the establishment of pansori.
Fourth, it is a spirit of pungryu based on orthodoxy. Bangjin-gwan��s version of ��Simcheong-ga�� indicates that the tradition of a family song was considered important. Bang Jin-gwan followed the family song of his ancestor Bang Man-chun and sang ��Simcheong-ga�� and ��Jeokbyeok- ga.�� The Chungcheong region had a culture in which the creativity of singers was displayed individually in association with noblemen. Joonggoje can be said to be an art that has been developed by recognizing the individuality and skills of singers, following the Pansori Goje.
Fifth, Pansori, which continued from Goje to Joongoje, was widely loved in the Chungcheong region and spread nationwide. Pansori is a story song that contains many regional emotions. The issues of language, customs, and values are all included and changing. Therefore, it seems safe to say that Yu Jin-han��s ��Chunhyangga�� reflects the sentiment of the 18th century in Chungcheong Province, and Bang Jin-gwan��s ��Simcheongga�� reflects the sentiment of the 19th century in Chungcheong Province. In the 20th century, the Jeolla-do region��s emotions were greatly reflected in pansori, leading to changes in language and music.
