Agricultural products market will have been opened more and more owing to WTO/DDA and FTA negotiations. This may be acted as a crisis to the Korean pear industry, for example, trend of rapid drop in price due to oversupply. However, this can be an opportunity to increase farmer's income through increasing export of agricultural products. Field survey results show that the pear export areas at Cheonan, Anseong and Pyeongtaek have natural environment and conditions for cultivation of high quality pear as well as high level of export capabilities through many efforts and investments for export expansion. Fundamentally, systematic education and promotion for pear export must be implemented in order to resolve some problems presented in exporting pears. And export companies must carry out export businesses actively and harmoniously for getting competitiveness in quality and price. Farmers specialized and organization for exporting is needed. In addition, large and specialized export companies must be established and export market be diversified.
