In Seongdong-gu, Seoul, there is Mitasa, a temple where monk nuns preside. Mita Temple was actually founded in 1824, the first half of the 19th century. Geungnakjeon, the main hall, was renovated with the support of Queen Shinjeong and the Jo clan. In Geuknakjeon, the main Buddha Hall of Mita Temple, in 1887, six Buddhist paintings admiring the Buddha Hall were created collectively. The Buddhist temple of Geungnakjeon was led by Jeam Eungha(���֑���), a disciple of Inheo Yuseong(��̓Ω��), a monk at Heungguksa Temple in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do. Buddhist paintings were also led by monk painters belonging to Heungguksa Temple. Hakheo Seokun(�Q̓ʯ�), Geumgok Yeonghwan(�������), and Gyeongseok Eungseok(�c�����), who led the Buddhist temple of Geungnakjeon in Mitasa, were monks of Heungguksa Temple and were competent painter monks at the time.
The enshrinement and arrangement of the Buddhist paintings in Geungnakjeon in Mitasa temple are well preserved and inherited, and are important as data to examine the beliefs and contents of the Buddhist paintings in the main Buddhist temple in rotal temple in the 19th century. It seems that the six Buddhist paintings of Mitasa Geuknakjeon used the originals of Buddhist paintings that were popular in the nearby region according to the atmosphere of the times in which iconography was shared. Geuknakjeon seems to have functioned as a temple for Queen Sinjeong, and it is meaningful in that we can see the aspect of undissolved Buddhist paintings enshrined in the main Buddhist temple in royal temple.
